Anglia M2M has moved quickly to bolster its position in GPS receiver modules by signing an exclusive UK and Ireland distributor deal with GlobalTop, manufacturer of Mediatek (MTK) based GPS receiver modules. The agreement replaces Anglia’s position as UK distributor for Fastrax GPS modules which came to an end following its acquisition by ublox.

According to Tim Clayton, Divisional Marketing Manager for Anglia M2M, “GlobalTop GPS modules are technically and commercially very competitive, and are easy to integrate as a result of their industry standard architecture. The GlobalTop range includes both smart antenna modules with a pre-tuned antenna and standalone modules with an ultra-small footprint for more advanced applications. Their hardware is exceptionally versatile, with good design tools allowing firmware to be readily adapted to suit specific needs. In my experience, the service and support offered by GlobalTop is absolutely first rate and we look forward to our new partnership with them.”

Brian Wang, Sales Director at GlobalTop added, “Anglia M2M has a strong portfolio of complementary lines and some exceptionally strong relationships with key customers. These relationships are built on the ability of their team to deliver great technical support, working closely in partnership with the customers design team to create an effective solution. We are delighted to have Anglia support our world beating GPS technology in the UK and Eire.”

GlobalTop becomes the latest blue chip wireless connectivity vendor to partner with Anglia M2M, the fast growing connectivity business within Anglia Components. Complementary lines include Cinterion wireless modules, ConnectBlue WiFi solutions and Avago WiMax technology. Anglia M2M is part of Anglia Embedded, which offers technologies such as KOE displays and Advantech and Avalue embedded computing platforms.
