Solid State Supplies announces it has signed a franchise agreement with Enfora, a leading provider of intelligent wireless networking solutions. Solid State Supplies will distribute Enfora’s full range of connectivity platforms in the UK. Digi-Key Stocks Tyco Electronics New CFP Compliant Ethernet Connectors and Components

Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corporation, recognized by design engineers as having the industry’s broadest selection of electronic components available for immediate shipment, announced today it is now stocking Tyco Electronics’ new CFP compliant Ethernet connectors and components.

The new CFP compliant connector is an ultra high-speed pluggable I/O interface supporting 40Gb/s and 100Gb/s Ethernet applications. The integrated system provides the mechanical, EMI, and thermal performance necessary to meet the demanding requirements of the CFP Multi Source Agreement (MSA) optical transceivers and OEM host line cards. Insertion loss, return loss, and crosstalk meet or exceed the performance of existing industry 10Gb/s solutions.

Security and identification comes under the spotlight as Farnell adds new technologies and supports new designs via element14

New high-power low-loss coaxial cables from Aerco

Aerco is now stocking a new, high-power, low-loss, coaxial cable from Habia that is ideal for many defence applications including protection of armoured vehicles.

Designed as a high power version of the standard Habia Speedfoam coaxial cable range, the Speedfoam HT cable uses a new, low-density PTFE dielectric in place of the foamed polyethylene (PE) used in the standard cable, which has a much higher temperature rating and hence a higher power rating than the standard product. Attenuation is also reduced, especially at higher frequencies.

Habia Speedfoam HT cables are available in two versions. The Speedfoam 240 HT has a power rating of 680W at 450MHz while the Speedfoam 400 HT is 1820W. The 240 version carries UK MOD approval while approval is pending on the larger version.

Habia Speedfoam HT cables are ideal for use in high power RF systems used in applications such as force protection systems on armoured vehicles and other applications where high-power and low-loss coaxial cables are required.

The AMP Mini-CT (1.5mm pitch) and AMP CT (2.0mm pitch) series connectors include crimp and insulation displacement connection (IDC) housings. The right angle and vertical headers are available in thru-hole and surface mount (SMT) printed circuit board (PCB) termination styles and include thru-board, free hanging, and dual row configurations. Applicable wire gauges range from 22-30 AWG. The AMP CT series connectors consist of shrouded and unshrouded headers. Both series have locating posts, kinked legs, and solder pads to help provide proper alignment and retention to the PCB.

The HPI (1.0mm to 2.5mm pitch) series includes crimp housings that mate with either right angle or vertical headers. Headers are available in either thru-hole or SMT termination styles. The 2.0mm HPI series offers a latching mechanism for those applications that require additional mating retention. Applicable wire gauges range from 24-32 AWG.
